Not only did the Lord Jesus win the battle against our archenemy, the devil, but He also gave us an example that we should walk in His steps. Though Jesus has and will win the war, there are still battles ongoing. In a sense, this fight is already won and yet, in another sense, it needs to be fought each day. We don’t fight for victory; we fight from victory. The victory has been won at Calvary, and that’s the reason that we can win it each day.
Imagine the giant in your life. Is it lust? Is it envy? Is it materialism? Is it laziness? Is it fear? Is it greed? Is it hatred? Is it doubt? What is it that stands between you and God’s will for your life, between you and the joy and victory God wants you to have? You can be sure that there is victory in Jesus.
Write out the struggles you are currently facing and journal about the difference between fighting these battles in your own strength and fighting in God’s strength.
