“The queen of the South will rise up in the judgment with this generation and condemn it, for she came from the ends of the earth to hear the wisdom of Solomon; and indeed a greater than Solomon is here.”

There are so many places we look for answers in life outside of God. Our world looks to science and says, “Science, can’t you save me?” And science says, “I can tell you how far it is from the Earth to the sun, but I cannot tell you how far God can remove sin from the human heart.” The world looks at education, and says, “Education, can’t you save me?” And education says, “I can talk to you about facts, but I cannot impart saving truth to you.” The world looks at government, and says, “Government, can’t you save me?” And government, if it would be honest, would have to say, “No, we can regulate and run things, but we have no power to deal with sin. We have no power to make people good.”
Jesus is the only Savior of the world. And I ask, “Jesus, Jesus, can’t You save me?” And Jesus says, “Yes, I can, and I will.” By His death and endless life, Jesus saves. He’s greater than anything the world can offer.
Thank Jesus for being the answer to our questions and the permanent solution to our greatest need.
I try to unplug each morning with Jesus with just my rocking chair, my Bible, and a pen.
Having a secret place is very important because I know that Jesus is always there waiting for me. I know where I can find Him! His presence is everywhere, but there are places where it is so thick you can cut it with a knife. You may not even have a front porch, but there is a secret place for you as well. God’s invitations are for anyone who will respond. There is no more important request than the one found in Psalm 27:8: “My heart has heard You say, ‘Come and talk with Me.’ And my heart responds, ‘Lord, I am coming.’”
