“For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places.”

Is there anybody who would deny that these are evil days? We’re up against the organized, mobilized, and demonized forces of Hell—and those forces come at us in every way. Sometimes it’s a direct attack. Sometimes it is very subtle. There is a war, but there also has never been a greater day, a greater age, and a greater opportunity to preach the Gospel of Jesus. There is more hunger for the Gospel now than ever before. There is more openness to the Gospel than ever before. You say, “Pastor Rogers, I thought you said things were getting bad?” They are. As the night grows darker, the saints grow brighter. The hungers are also more intense. There are people who are looking, waiting, and wondering, “Can we find a way? Is there an answer?” And there is an answer. The answer is Christ. But we need a generation of Spirit-filled people.
Initiate a connection or conversation with the person who came to mind who might be struggling with answers today. Take opportunities to share the hope of Jesus.
I try to unplug each morning with Jesus with just my rocking chair, my Bible, and a pen.
Having a secret place is very important because I know that Jesus is always there waiting for me. I know where I can find Him! His presence is everywhere, but there are places where it is so thick you can cut it with a knife. You may not even have a front porch, but there is a secret place for you as well. God’s invitations are for anyone who will respond. There is no more important request than the one found in Psalm 27:8: “My heart has heard You say, ‘Come and talk with Me.’ And my heart responds, ‘Lord, I am coming.’”
