“He has shown you, O man, what is good; and what does the LORD require of you but to do justly, to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God?”

Sometimes we come to church, and we act differently. Sometimes this is appropriate. Obviously, when somebody is preaching, we want to be quiet. When we sing, we want to join together. But don’t change your personality. A Christian is perfectly natural and naturally supernatural. God has made us with intention, and we are to bring our whole selves into the church. There’s a time to be still. But the Bible also says shout unto the Lord. There’s a time to cry, but also a time to laugh. There are times when we’re exuberant in our worship and times when we are to be on our face with the Lord. But in all of this, we’re to be natural. Faith is not something that we put on when we come to church. We are to walk with God 24 hours a day, seven days a week, 365 days a year. It is a constant walk.
Ask God to show you the areas of life in which you might be living falsely with Him or with others. Ask Him to help you live authentically in every moment of life.
I try to unplug each morning with Jesus with just my rocking chair, my Bible, and a pen.
Having a secret place is very important because I know that Jesus is always there waiting for me. I know where I can find Him! His presence is everywhere, but there are places where it is so thick you can cut it with a knife. You may not even have a front porch, but there is a secret place for you as well. God’s invitations are for anyone who will respond. There is no more important request than the one found in Psalm 27:8: “My heart has heard You say, ‘Come and talk with Me.’ And my heart responds, ‘Lord, I am coming.’”
