Do You Need a Fresh Start?

“This month shall be your beginning of months; it shall be the first month of the year to you.”

Exodus 12:2

Ponder This

I performed a wedding for a young man, and he was frightened to death. After they said, “I do,” he said, “Pastor, is it all over?” I said, “No, son, it’s just beginning.” When you give your heart to Jesus and you feed on the Lamb, you do it with your loins girded, your shoes on your feet, and your staff in your hand. (See Exodus 12:11.) You are getting ready to serve the Lord. And you become a new creature. Exodus 12:2 says: “This month shall be your beginning of months; it shall be the first month of the year to you.” When you give your heart to Jesus, it’s a brand-new day. You’re all tomorrows; you’re no yesterdays. It’s the first day of the rest of your life when you get saved and feed upon the Lamb.

  • How has Jesus given you a new start?
  • How has it changed your life to view your future with Jesus as a “brand-new day”?

Front Porch Moments by Gayle Foster

WITH KEY INSIGHTS FROM HER FATHER, ADRIAN ROGERS

I try to unplug each morning with Jesus with just my rocking chair, my Bible, and a pen.

Having a secret place is very important because I know that Jesus is always there waiting for me. I know where I can find Him! His presence is everywhere, but there are places where it is so thick you can cut it with a knife. You may not even have a front porch, but there is a secret place for you as well. God’s invitations are for anyone who will respond. There is no more important request than the one found in Psalm 27:8: “My heart has heard You say, ‘Come and talk with Me.’ And my heart responds, ‘Lord, I am coming.’”
