“Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy—meditate on these things. The things which you learned and received and heard and saw in me, these do, and the God of peace will be with you.”

What is worth more, a gold nugget or a dime? You say a gold nugget. Alright let’s put them on the bottom of the ocean floor, now which one is worth more? Practically neither one. The Word of God is of no worth to you if you’re not reading it. It is of little value if you’re not putting it in your heart and mind.
When you start to take in God’s Word and hide it in your heart, it will change you. How? Paul said, “The things which you learned and received and heard and saw in me, these do, and the God of peace will be with you.” Fill your mind with that which is right. Our gracious, good, and wise God has made us where we can’t think two thoughts at one time. And if you’re thinking what you ought to think, you cannot be also thinking what you ought not to think. This is one reason to hide God’s Word in your heart. Think on things that are pure, just, lovely, and virtuous. Load up on the Word of God. Commit it to memory, hide it in your heart, and you will see the transforming work of God in you.
Spend time reading the Bible, asking God to transform your heart through His Word.
