Jesus Wants to Dine with You

“Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and dine with him, and he with Me.”

Revelation 3:20

Ponder This

Being saved is not about a penalty you pay to get to Heaven. When I invite you to come to Jesus, I’m not inviting you to a funeral; I’m inviting you to a feast. Jesus is saying, “Come and dine. Come and dine.” He says, “I’ll come in as the guest, and then I’ll become the host.” Jesus bids you to come and have fellowship with Him.

First, you put faith in Jesus. Then you have freedom through Jesus and fellowship with Jesus. Are you having that fellowship? I can tell you Jesus is as real to me as a person sitting in the same room with me. I don’t see Him, but Jesus is a friend. And I feast with Him and fellowship with Him. The devil wants to get you thinking negatively about God. God is good all the time, and He’s saying to you, “Come and dine.”

  • When have you thought negatively about God or had a hard time experiencing fellowship with Him?
  • How does it change your perspective to remember Jesus is inviting you to His feast?

Practice This

Have a meal with other Christians and praise God for all He has done.

Front Porch Moments by Gayle Foster

WITH KEY INSIGHTS FROM HER FATHER, ADRIAN ROGERS

I try to unplug each morning with Jesus with just my rocking chair, my Bible, and a pen.

Having a secret place is very important because I know that Jesus is always there waiting for me. I know where I can find Him! His presence is everywhere, but there are places where it is so thick you can cut it with a knife. You may not even have a front porch, but there is a secret place for you as well. God’s invitations are for anyone who will respond. There is no more important request than the one found in Psalm 27:8: “My heart has heard You say, ‘Come and talk with Me.’ And my heart responds, ‘Lord, I am coming.’”
