“…and raised us up together, and made us sit together in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus.”

Where is Jesus? He is at the right hand of the majesty on high. All things are beneath His feet. Where are you? You may say, “I’m sitting right here.” Physically, yes. But notice what it says in Ephesians 1:22: “And He put all things under His feet, and gave Him to be head over all things to the church.” And then in Ephesians 2:5, “Even when we were dead in trespasses, made us alive together with Christ.” We were raised. We died with Jesus, and we were also raised with Him. God has “raised us up together, and made us sit together in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus.”
So are those who are in Christ on the Earth or in the heavenly places? The answer is yes and yes. Physically we are here, but in Christ we have been raised. When He died, we died. His death had our name on it. When He was raised from the grave, we were raised from the grave. When He ascended, we ascended. As He is seated at the right hand of God, so are we in Him.
Take time today to dig into the Bible to learn more of what it says about Christ being raised and to reflect on what that means for those who are in Him.
I try to unplug each morning with Jesus with just my rocking chair, my Bible, and a pen.
Having a secret place is very important because I know that Jesus is always there waiting for me. I know where I can find Him! His presence is everywhere, but there are places where it is so thick you can cut it with a knife. You may not even have a front porch, but there is a secret place for you as well. God’s invitations are for anyone who will respond. There is no more important request than the one found in Psalm 27:8: “My heart has heard You say, ‘Come and talk with Me.’ And my heart responds, ‘Lord, I am coming.’”
