The One Who Reveals the Father

“He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation.”

Colossians 1:15

Ponder This

Do you want to know God? Friend, Jesus Christ has cornered the market. He has a monopoly on revealing the Father. That’s the only way you’re going to know God. Here’s what Jesus said in Matthew 11:27, “All things have been delivered to Me by My Father, and no one knows the Son except the Father. Nor does anyone know the Father except the Son, and the one to whom the Son wills to reveal Him.” Now either that’s true, or it’s not true. I believe it’s true. He said, “Nobody knows My Father but Me, and you can’t know Him unless I introduce Him to you.” That’s a big statement. Why? Because Jesus is the express image of God. You’re never going to figure God out. How can the finite understand the infinite? Not by reason, but by revelation. Any other god that you worship is the god of your guesses, and that’s a form of idolatry. Jesus came to reveal the Father.

  • How have you seen the Father revealed in Jesus?
  • What does this tell us about the importance of knowing Jesus more each day?

Practice This

List all the things you know about Jesus from Scripture. Make another list of what these things reveal about the Father.
