“The former account I made, O Theophilus, of all that Jesus began both to do and teach, until the day in which He was taken up, after He through the Holy Spirit had given commandments to the apostles whom He had chosen.”

In the Gospels you find what Jesus did in His human body—the body of His flesh. In the book of Acts, you find out what Jesus is doing in His mystical body, the Church. You see, Jesus is still active and alive on Earth today and He still has a body. In the Gospels it was His material, physical body. In the book of Acts, it is His new body, which is the Church. And Jesus is alive and well today in His mystical body. This is what the Bible calls in Colossians 1:27, “Christ in you.” You see, we’re not here just imitating the Lord Jesus. I love the idea behind the question, “What would Jesus do?” That implies, “What would He do if He were here?” But we need to realize He is here. So, it’s not, “What would He do?” We need to recognize His presence in His body and let Him do what He will do.
Make a list of ways you can see Jesus working through your church right now.
I try to unplug each morning with Jesus with just my rocking chair, my Bible, and a pen.
Having a secret place is very important because I know that Jesus is always there waiting for me. I know where I can find Him! His presence is everywhere, but there are places where it is so thick you can cut it with a knife. You may not even have a front porch, but there is a secret place for you as well. God’s invitations are for anyone who will respond. There is no more important request than the one found in Psalm 27:8: “My heart has heard You say, ‘Come and talk with Me.’ And my heart responds, ‘Lord, I am coming.’”
