“He answered and said to them: ‘He who sows the good seed is the Son of Man. The field is the world, the good seeds are the sons of the kingdom, but the tares are the sons of the wicked one. The enemy who sowed them is the devil, the harvest is the end of the age, and the reapers are the angels. Therefore as the tares are gathered and burned in the fire, so it will be at the end of this age.’”

Our job is not killing or rooting out spiritual weeds. Every now and then somebody wants to go on a crusade against false religions. But that is not our job. We can warn people, we can preach the truth, but it is not our job to stamp out false religion. God is the One who will judge, and if you try, you’ll do more damage than good. And you may just root out some wheat while you’re trying to root out the tares.
While it’s not our job to go rooting out weeds, you also must be careful not to spend your money and efforts to fertilize weeds. Invest in God’s kingdom, not in weeds. His kingdom will bear fruit. This is one of the reasons it’s good to give through the local church. Be a part of something that you know is real.
Pray and give time or money in your church as an act of worship to God.
