Who Are You Mentoring?

“That the older men be sober, reverent, temperate, sound in faith, in love, in patience; the older women likewise, that they be reverent in behavior, not slanderers, not given to much wine, teachers of good things.”

Titus 2:2-3

Ponder This

God’s way is for a woman to leave a legacy. Today’s passage says older women have a ministry from God to teach the younger women. It says here very clearly that the aged women are to teach the younger women. That is God’s plan.

Through the years, we have had a very wonderful program in our church—it’s called Woman to Woman. The older women minister to and disciple the younger women because many don’t have mentors to disciple them. God’s Word says older women are to teach these young women. If we miss God’s call on our lives, we’re failing God and missing a blessing. Don’t neglect to pass on the legacy of faith.

  • Who have you passed your faith on to? How have you been a mentor to someone?
  • Who has mentored you? How did that make a difference in your life?

Practice This

Pray for the person you mentor, or ask God who you could mentor (or who might mentor you) in this season.

Front Porch Moments by Gayle Foster

WITH KEY INSIGHTS FROM HER FATHER, ADRIAN ROGERS

I try to unplug each morning with Jesus with just my rocking chair, my Bible, and a pen.

Having a secret place is very important because I know that Jesus is always there waiting for me. I know where I can find Him! His presence is everywhere, but there are places where it is so thick you can cut it with a knife. You may not even have a front porch, but there is a secret place for you as well. God’s invitations are for anyone who will respond. There is no more important request than the one found in Psalm 27:8: “My heart has heard You say, ‘Come and talk with Me.’ And my heart responds, ‘Lord, I am coming.’”
