A Love Letter To Parents

"

Most parents would risk their lives unto the death on behalf of their children. Why? Because of their love. And how we ought to love them! Have you ever written a letter to your parents telling them how much you love them? You say, "Well, it sounds so corny." I guarantee you they will never throw it away.

Do it while you can. If your parents are still alive, take advantage of that opportunity. I have preached a good number of funerals, and frequently I have stood there at the grave when children tried in a funeral to make up for lost time with an expensive casket, beautiful flowers, and words of admiration. I'm not against any of those things, but dead noses smell no roses. What you want to do, do it now.

Exodus 20:12 says, "Honor thy father and thy mother: that thy days may be long upon the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee."

Front Porch Moments by Gayle Foster

WITH KEY INSIGHTS FROM HER FATHER, ADRIAN ROGERS

I try to unplug each morning with Jesus with just my rocking chair, my Bible, and a pen.

Having a secret place is very important because I know that Jesus is always there waiting for me. I know where I can find Him! His presence is everywhere, but there are places where it is so thick you can cut it with a knife. You may not even have a front porch, but there is a secret place for you as well. God’s invitations are for anyone who will respond. There is no more important request than the one found in Psalm 27:8: “My heart has heard You say, ‘Come and talk with Me.’ And my heart responds, ‘Lord, I am coming.’”
