Are you ready for a “Mission Impossible”?

Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you.

Luke 10:19

Ponder This

Have you ever thought about the Great Commission, when Jesus commanded His disciples to “Go into all the world and preach the Gospel” as being a “mission impossible”? But it isn’t, because of what comes with the mission.

You see, Jesus said that all power, authority, and dominion is given unto Him in heaven and earth (Matthew 28:18-20). Dominion was first given to man, but man gave it over to the devil in the Garden of Eden. Jesus received it back from the Father and gave that authority to each of us. He has given that commission and transferred that power to us as His ambassadors.

Does Jesus have authority over the devil? Yes. Then so do you. Does Jesus have the victory? Yes. Then you have the victory. Is Jesus Christ enthroned? (See Ephesians 1:20) Yes. Then you are enthroned. “We are seated with Him in heavenly places” (Ephesians 2:6). The victory is yours through Jesus Christ.

Practice This

How can you go through your day today, confident as an ambassador with a commission from your King, that He will give you the victory?

Front Porch Moments by Gayle Foster

WITH KEY INSIGHTS FROM HER FATHER, ADRIAN ROGERS

I try to unplug each morning with Jesus with just my rocking chair, my Bible, and a pen.

Having a secret place is very important because I know that Jesus is always there waiting for me. I know where I can find Him! His presence is everywhere, but there are places where it is so thick you can cut it with a knife. You may not even have a front porch, but there is a secret place for you as well. God’s invitations are for anyone who will respond. There is no more important request than the one found in Psalm 27:8: “My heart has heard You say, ‘Come and talk with Me.’ And my heart responds, ‘Lord, I am coming.’”
