Can you slip through His hands?

BIBLE MEDITATION:

Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God… 1 John 3:1a

DEVOTIONAL THOUGHT:

All this month we celebrate the birth of Jesus, the Son of God. Jesus became the Son of Man that we might become sons of God. We are saved because of the grace of Christmas. That’s not rhetoric—that’s reality!

You are eternally secure in Christ.

A little boy was talking about what it felt like to be saved. He said, “I am held in His hand.”

A cynic responded, “What if you slip through His hands?”

“Oh, that won’t happen,” the boy replied, “I’m one of His fingers.”

ACTION POINT:

Amidst all the materialism that sometimes chokes out the true meaning of Christmas, take time to reflect on what His coming meant for all eternity. God became man. He took on a body of human flesh. Our Creator, our “Immanuel” (“God with us”) came and lived among us. Now, through faith in Christ, His Spirit lives within every believer. His Spirit is within you. Front Porch Moments by Gayle Foster

WITH KEY INSIGHTS FROM HER FATHER, ADRIAN ROGERS

I try to unplug each morning with Jesus with just my rocking chair, my Bible, and a pen.

Having a secret place is very important because I know that Jesus is always there waiting for me. I know where I can find Him! His presence is everywhere, but there are places where it is so thick you can cut it with a knife. You may not even have a front porch, but there is a secret place for you as well. God’s invitations are for anyone who will respond. There is no more important request than the one found in Psalm 27:8: “My heart has heard You say, ‘Come and talk with Me.’ And my heart responds, ‘Lord, I am coming.’”
