Changing Public Opinion

America’s government is a republic—the people elect representatives who we hope will do our bidding in passing laws. America’s government is also based upon public opinion. The only hope for America is to change public opinion. And the only thing that can change public opinion is the Word of God.
We have got to spread abroad the Word of God. Christians are not going to out-argue those who are against Christianity, for they are blind—they don’t see it—and they are selfish, and full of greed.
Instead, we are to persuade these people. They’ve got to know Jesus! We are to be taking them back one at a time and winning souls to Jesus Christ. It is not political influence that we need. It is the power of God that we need.

I try to unplug each morning with Jesus with just my rocking chair, my Bible, and a pen.
Having a secret place is very important because I know that Jesus is always there waiting for me. I know where I can find Him! His presence is everywhere, but there are places where it is so thick you can cut it with a knife. You may not even have a front porch, but there is a secret place for you as well. God’s invitations are for anyone who will respond. There is no more important request than the one found in Psalm 27:8: “My heart has heard You say, ‘Come and talk with Me.’ And my heart responds, ‘Lord, I am coming.’”
