Romans 8:28 says, “And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to His purpose.”
What is the good?
The next verse explains, “For whom He did foreknow, He also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of His Son, that He might be the firstborn among many brethren.” That word “For” is a preposition which means unto. The good moves toward something.
The good is that Christians will be conformed to the image of God’s Son. How wonderful that you and I could be like the Lord Jesus Christ! How incredible that we will be with the Lord Jesus Christ and be glorified with Him in eternity!
I try to unplug each morning with Jesus with just my rocking chair, my Bible, and a pen.
Having a secret place is very important because I know that Jesus is always there waiting for me. I know where I can find Him! His presence is everywhere, but there are places where it is so thick you can cut it with a knife. You may not even have a front porch, but there is a secret place for you as well. God’s invitations are for anyone who will respond. There is no more important request than the one found in Psalm 27:8: “My heart has heard You say, ‘Come and talk with Me.’ And my heart responds, ‘Lord, I am coming.’”
