Dealing With The Sin Problem

"

Many children, as well as many adults, have lost the concept of sin today. They do not understand what sin is.

The evolutionist says that we are just on our way upward and time will kill the beast within us. Just give us time and we will evolve into an exemplary species.

Education says that all we need to do is educate people. If everyone were just smarter, then we would be able to deal with the sin problem. What about Hitler’s Germany? The Nazis were highly educated.

Science says that perhaps by genetic engineering, we can breed this “thing” out of man. We’ll just create a bionic woman and super man, and even an entire new race of enlightened people.

The sociologist says we should change the environment in which man lives and relates. This will help make man a more socially accepted creature. If this were true, we would expect that people who live in the best environment would not be bothered with sin, but that is simply not the case.

Thank God for His Word of absolute Truth! The only book that has the answer to the sin problem is God’s Word. Hebrews 4:12 says, “For the Word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.”

Front Porch Moments by Gayle Foster

WITH KEY INSIGHTS FROM HER FATHER, ADRIAN ROGERS

I try to unplug each morning with Jesus with just my rocking chair, my Bible, and a pen.

Having a secret place is very important because I know that Jesus is always there waiting for me. I know where I can find Him! His presence is everywhere, but there are places where it is so thick you can cut it with a knife. You may not even have a front porch, but there is a secret place for you as well. God’s invitations are for anyone who will respond. There is no more important request than the one found in Psalm 27:8: “My heart has heard You say, ‘Come and talk with Me.’ And my heart responds, ‘Lord, I am coming.’”
