Wives are to have an attitude of submission towards their husbands. What do you think about that? In most circles, it’s a politically incorrect statement because when people hear the word “submission” they think of inferiority.
I want you to understand something simple, plain, and straight – submission is not inferiority. It’s a military term that means to “rank under.” In the military you have ranks, but a Private is not inferior to a Captain and a Captain is not inferior to a General. Though they rank differently and have different prerogatives and jobs, one is not inferior to the other.
Ephesians 5:23a says, “For the husband is the head of the wife.” That doesn’t mean he’s superior to the wife, like the devil wants you to believe. You see, the devil has obliterated the difference between the sexes. He spreads his lies by telling you that if you have submission in the home, then the woman is inferior. The devil, under the guise of making men and women equal, is trying to make them the same. Men and women are equal in standing, worth and value, but in the home they are not the same in role and function.
"I try to unplug each morning with Jesus with just my rocking chair, my Bible, and a pen.
Having a secret place is very important because I know that Jesus is always there waiting for me. I know where I can find Him! His presence is everywhere, but there are places where it is so thick you can cut it with a knife. You may not even have a front porch, but there is a secret place for you as well. God’s invitations are for anyone who will respond. There is no more important request than the one found in Psalm 27:8: “My heart has heard You say, ‘Come and talk with Me.’ And my heart responds, ‘Lord, I am coming.’”
