Faithful To The Family

Ponder This

Over and over and over again, the Bible speaks of family faithfulness. Friend, if you are not faithful at home, you can’t be faithful anywhere else. Simply put: The religion that doesn’t begin at home, doesn’t begin at all.

“Most men will proclaim every one his own goodness: but a faithful man who can find?” (Proverbs 20:6). Husbands need to be faithful to their wives. They need to be morally faithful and sexually faithful. There is no greater mark of unfaithfulness than adultery.

If you are a man, I hope you have chosen a wife, and that you are faithful to her. And when I talk about faithfulness, I don’t mean just physically faithful. Many a man is unfaithful to his wife because he is married to his job. Or he has a love affair with sports. Or he has loves money more than his mate.

The Marines have a motto: Semper fidelis – always faithful. How that needs to be true in our hearts, and in our lives!

Front Porch Moments by Gayle Foster

WITH KEY INSIGHTS FROM HER FATHER, ADRIAN ROGERS

I try to unplug each morning with Jesus with just my rocking chair, my Bible, and a pen.

Having a secret place is very important because I know that Jesus is always there waiting for me. I know where I can find Him! His presence is everywhere, but there are places where it is so thick you can cut it with a knife. You may not even have a front porch, but there is a secret place for you as well. God’s invitations are for anyone who will respond. There is no more important request than the one found in Psalm 27:8: “My heart has heard You say, ‘Come and talk with Me.’ And my heart responds, ‘Lord, I am coming.’”
