The kind of repentance that does not reach the bank account has never reached the heart. Now, you can say all you want about getting right with God, but if you don’t get right with God in your finances, you are not right with God.
Matthew 6:33 says, “Seek ye first the kingdom of God and His righteousness and all these things shall be added unto you.” When you put God first and things second, God is glorified.
Let's look at another verse about getting financially right with God. Malachi 3:8-10 says, "Will a man rob God? Yet ye have robbed Me. But ye say, Wherein have we robbed Thee? In tithes and offerings. Ye are cursed with a curse: for ye have robbed Me, even this whole nation. Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in Mine house, and prove Me now herewith, saith the LORD of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it."
If you want to restore your relationship with God, then you must know that the point of return is the point of departure. If you want to come back to God, you’re going to have to include your tithe.
I try to unplug each morning with Jesus with just my rocking chair, my Bible, and a pen.
Having a secret place is very important because I know that Jesus is always there waiting for me. I know where I can find Him! His presence is everywhere, but there are places where it is so thick you can cut it with a knife. You may not even have a front porch, but there is a secret place for you as well. God’s invitations are for anyone who will respond. There is no more important request than the one found in Psalm 27:8: “My heart has heard You say, ‘Come and talk with Me.’ And my heart responds, ‘Lord, I am coming.’”
