“While we do not look at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen. For the things which are seen are temporary, but the things which are not seen are eternal”

A man may say, “It’s hard for me to have faith—I deal in reality.” So, what is real? Your house? Your car? Your money? No, reality is not in something you can see, taste, touch, smell, or feel. Those things are not real because they are not lasting. Reality is in God.
If you’re putting your trust in things you can see, touch, and count, you’re living in a world of illusion. The things that are seen are temporal; the things that are not seen are eternal. The only “real” things are those things that will last eternally.
When we put God first, then we will come in contact with reality. Are you putting Him first? Is He more real to you than things that seem so rock solid? Look up Matthew 6:33 in your Bible and commit to living by seeking His kingdom first.
I try to unplug each morning with Jesus with just my rocking chair, my Bible, and a pen.
Having a secret place is very important because I know that Jesus is always there waiting for me. I know where I can find Him! His presence is everywhere, but there are places where it is so thick you can cut it with a knife. You may not even have a front porch, but there is a secret place for you as well. God’s invitations are for anyone who will respond. There is no more important request than the one found in Psalm 27:8: “My heart has heard You say, ‘Come and talk with Me.’ And my heart responds, ‘Lord, I am coming.’”
