In the Bible, God is not explained. God is simply presented and must be accepted by faith. In Hebrews 11:6 the Bible says, “For without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he that cometh to God must believe that He is.”
I want to talk about wisdom. All people are believers: there are those on the one hand who believe in God, and on the other, those who believe there is no God. Every now and then a scientist will say something good about God, but that doesn’t give me more faith in God. After all, what is science? Science is the study of phenomenon now existing.
God asked Job, “Where were you when I laid the foundation of the earth?” (Job 38:4). There were no scientists there. There’s no way they can explain it. How do we understand it? By faith. You say, “Well, that takes a lot of belief.” Friend, that takes much less belief than to believe that nothing times nobody equals everything. That’s the way they believe! No wonder the Bible says, “The fool hath said in his heart, ‘There is no God.’"
I try to unplug each morning with Jesus with just my rocking chair, my Bible, and a pen.
Having a secret place is very important because I know that Jesus is always there waiting for me. I know where I can find Him! His presence is everywhere, but there are places where it is so thick you can cut it with a knife. You may not even have a front porch, but there is a secret place for you as well. God’s invitations are for anyone who will respond. There is no more important request than the one found in Psalm 27:8: “My heart has heard You say, ‘Come and talk with Me.’ And my heart responds, ‘Lord, I am coming.’”
