“…you do not have because you do not ask.”
August 2, 2020
A little boy was trying with all his might to move a huge stone. His little muscles were straining, and there was perspiration on his face. His father, who was watching, said to him, “Son, are you using all of your strength?” And the little boy said, “Yes, Daddy, I’m using all of my strength.” And his dad said, “No, you’re not. You haven’t asked me to help you.”
Sometimes we’re burdened down with weighty problems, and we strive, we cry, and say, “I’m doing everything I know to do!” Have you asked your Father to help?
It may be that God wants to bless you, but the reason He isn’t is very simple: “You have not because you ask not.” Decide today to link your life with His. Tap into His power.
I try to unplug each morning with Jesus with just my rocking chair, my Bible, and a pen.
Having a secret place is very important because I know that Jesus is always there waiting for me. I know where I can find Him! His presence is everywhere, but there are places where it is so thick you can cut it with a knife. You may not even have a front porch, but there is a secret place for you as well. God’s invitations are for anyone who will respond. There is no more important request than the one found in Psalm 27:8: “My heart has heard You say, ‘Come and talk with Me.’ And my heart responds, ‘Lord, I am coming.’”
