Today’s treasure is for the married ladies who might have an unsaved husband. Do you want your husband to be saved? Do you want him to go to church with you next Sunday? Do you want him to pray with you and read the Bible with you? Well, let me tell you a way this won’t happen – if you nag him. Dear sister in Christ, don’t nag your husband to Jesus.
First Peter 3:1-2 says, “Likewise, ye wives, be in subjection to your own husbands; that, if any obey not the word, they also may without the word be won by the conversation of the wives; While they behold your chaste conversation coupled with fear” (emphasis mine).
The word “behold” means to give rapt attention. Your behavior is going to make a bigger impact on him than anything else. Your sweet spirit is going to be God’s major tool to bring your husband to Jesus Christ. You see, he’s going to live with a sermon, he’s going to eat with a sermon, he’s going to go to bed with a sermon. And that sermon is your spirit of submission.
Mrs. Billy Graham once said, “It is your job to love your husband. It’s God’s job to make him good.”
"I try to unplug each morning with Jesus with just my rocking chair, my Bible, and a pen.
Having a secret place is very important because I know that Jesus is always there waiting for me. I know where I can find Him! His presence is everywhere, but there are places where it is so thick you can cut it with a knife. You may not even have a front porch, but there is a secret place for you as well. God’s invitations are for anyone who will respond. There is no more important request than the one found in Psalm 27:8: “My heart has heard You say, ‘Come and talk with Me.’ And my heart responds, ‘Lord, I am coming.’”
