Everything we have pertaining to our salvation and sanctification are gifts from God by faith.
Do you want to be saved? Romans 5:1 says, “Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ.” Do you want to be sanctified? Acts 15:8-9 says, “And God, which knoweth the hearts, bare them witness, giving them the Holy Ghost, even as He did unto us; And put no difference between us and them, purifying their hearts by faith.” (emphasis mine)
Do you want your prayers answered? Jesus said, “Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them” (Mark 11:24). Do you want to overcome the world? “For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith” (1 John 5:4).
It is faith that is the medium of exchange in the kingdom of heaven. That is the reason the Lord Jesus Christ said to the two blind men, “According to your faith be it unto you” (Matthew 9:29).
Your faith is the measure of your victory. All of the things grace provides come to us by faith. Romans 1:17 says, “For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith.”
The way we live the Christian life is not by striving or trying, but by trusting in Almighty God.
"I try to unplug each morning with Jesus with just my rocking chair, my Bible, and a pen.
Having a secret place is very important because I know that Jesus is always there waiting for me. I know where I can find Him! His presence is everywhere, but there are places where it is so thick you can cut it with a knife. You may not even have a front porch, but there is a secret place for you as well. God’s invitations are for anyone who will respond. There is no more important request than the one found in Psalm 27:8: “My heart has heard You say, ‘Come and talk with Me.’ And my heart responds, ‘Lord, I am coming.’”
