Lord, Liar, Or Lunatic

"

When we speak about the Second Coming of Jesus Christ, we’re not just talking about some man who may enter history. We’re talking about God Himself! And you must make up your mind about Jesus.

You can’t just tip your hat to Jesus. You can’t just talk of Jesus as the humble Galilean or the peasant prophet. No, as C. S. Lewis once said, “Jesus is Lord, He is liar, or He is lunatic.”

Either Jesus is the Lord. Or He is a liar who pretended to be the Son of God. Or worse than that, He is a lunatic who thought He was Lord and wasn’t. Which is He?

John 5:25-27 says, “Verily, verily, I say unto you, The hour is coming, and now is, when the dead shall hear the voice of the Son of God: and they that hear shall live. For as the Father hath life in Himself; so hath He given to the Son to have life in Himself; And hath given Him authority to execute judgment also, because He is the Son of man.”

Front Porch Moments by Gayle Foster

WITH KEY INSIGHTS FROM HER FATHER, ADRIAN ROGERS

I try to unplug each morning with Jesus with just my rocking chair, my Bible, and a pen.

Having a secret place is very important because I know that Jesus is always there waiting for me. I know where I can find Him! His presence is everywhere, but there are places where it is so thick you can cut it with a knife. You may not even have a front porch, but there is a secret place for you as well. God’s invitations are for anyone who will respond. There is no more important request than the one found in Psalm 27:8: “My heart has heard You say, ‘Come and talk with Me.’ And my heart responds, ‘Lord, I am coming.’”
