Genesis 6:8 says, “But Noah found grace in the eyes of the Lord.”
How was Noah saved? By grace. The only way that anybody has ever been saved in the history of the world is by grace. God only has one plan of salvation from beginning to end, and that is grace.
What is grace? It means that God saves us apart from any effort on our part. You are not saved by keeping the Ten Commandments. You are not saved by giving money. You are not saved by being a good person. You are not saved by the sweat of your brow. You are saved by the grace of Almighty God.
But now wait a minute. Let’s look at what God’s Word says, “For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God—not by works, so that no one can boast” (Ephesians 2:8-9, emphasis mine). By grace through faith.
“By faith Noah, being warned of God of things not seen as yet, moved with fear, prepared an ark to the saving of his house; by the which he condemned the world, and became heir of the righteousness which is by faith.” (Hebrews 11:7) Noah found grace in the eyes of the Lord and how did Noah respond to that grace? It is by grace through faith.
"I try to unplug each morning with Jesus with just my rocking chair, my Bible, and a pen.
Having a secret place is very important because I know that Jesus is always there waiting for me. I know where I can find Him! His presence is everywhere, but there are places where it is so thick you can cut it with a knife. You may not even have a front porch, but there is a secret place for you as well. God’s invitations are for anyone who will respond. There is no more important request than the one found in Psalm 27:8: “My heart has heard You say, ‘Come and talk with Me.’ And my heart responds, ‘Lord, I am coming.’”
