Power To Operate

"

If you are a child of God, if you are born-again, you have a spiritual gift. Romans 12:1-2 says “I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.” Now this is talking about your service to the Lord. Furthermore, the verse continues, “And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.”

Do you want to find the will of God for your service? Then just present yourself to God saying, “Lord here I am. Here I am, Lord.” You see, your gift must have power to operate. Suppose you got married and received a lot of gifts. You received a waffle-iron, a toaster, a blender, a television set. Then you moved into an apartment and there is no power. What good is the gift if you can’t plug it in?

God gives you the gift when you get saved, but the gift begins to operate when you get the power to operate that gift. And how do you get the power? The power to operate that gift comes when you present yourself to the Lord Jesus Christ and you say, “Here I am, Lord, I give myself to You.”

FOR YOUR GIFT TO THE MINISTRY

Front Porch Moments by Gayle Foster

WITH KEY INSIGHTS FROM HER FATHER, ADRIAN ROGERS

I try to unplug each morning with Jesus with just my rocking chair, my Bible, and a pen.

Having a secret place is very important because I know that Jesus is always there waiting for me. I know where I can find Him! His presence is everywhere, but there are places where it is so thick you can cut it with a knife. You may not even have a front porch, but there is a secret place for you as well. God’s invitations are for anyone who will respond. There is no more important request than the one found in Psalm 27:8: “My heart has heard You say, ‘Come and talk with Me.’ And my heart responds, ‘Lord, I am coming.’”
