The devil never gives up without a fight. He is going to say to you, "Don’t admit your need of the Lord. Keep your dignity. You're not that bad."
If you were to take the 7 billion-plus people upon the face of this earth and add to them all of the people that have died since Adam, then add to that number all the people who will yet come into being before time comes to an end, put all of them in one place and then extract from them their very best attributes, and take all of those attributes and put them into one man, that one man would still have to kneel and pray, “God, be merciful to me a sinner.”
The worst form of badness is human goodness when that human goodness becomes a substitute for the new birth. Until you admit your need for Jesus Christ, you will never be saved.
So many people slide into hell because they never admit they need a Savior. Proverbs 16:18, "Pride goeth before destruction, and an haughty spirit before a fall."
"I try to unplug each morning with Jesus with just my rocking chair, my Bible, and a pen.
Having a secret place is very important because I know that Jesus is always there waiting for me. I know where I can find Him! His presence is everywhere, but there are places where it is so thick you can cut it with a knife. You may not even have a front porch, but there is a secret place for you as well. God’s invitations are for anyone who will respond. There is no more important request than the one found in Psalm 27:8: “My heart has heard You say, ‘Come and talk with Me.’ And my heart responds, ‘Lord, I am coming.’”
