The Mastery Of The Shepherd

"

Jesus said, “I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly” (John 10:10b). Do you want a life filled with all the goodness God wants to give you? Then seek after the Shepherd.

Do you know what’s wrong with so many of us? We’re always trying to get out of trouble rather than trying to get into righteousness. It’s all negative. I am grateful that when we are down, God gets us up. Wouldn’t you like to get up and stay up? Wouldn’t you like to get off the defensive and get on the offensive? Wouldn’t you like to be a force for God rather than just simply being a casualty always being restored?

Why don’t you determine today that you are going to get right with God and stay right with God? Why don’t you tell God that you are going to seek His voice, that you are going to slow down your life so you can hear His voice, and you’re going to listen and obey His voice? Stand up now and declare that you are going to get in the Word of God and not find yourself back in the briars, or down in the pit, or down in the mud, or down in the crevice again.

Front Porch Moments by Gayle Foster

WITH KEY INSIGHTS FROM HER FATHER, ADRIAN ROGERS

I try to unplug each morning with Jesus with just my rocking chair, my Bible, and a pen.

Having a secret place is very important because I know that Jesus is always there waiting for me. I know where I can find Him! His presence is everywhere, but there are places where it is so thick you can cut it with a knife. You may not even have a front porch, but there is a secret place for you as well. God’s invitations are for anyone who will respond. There is no more important request than the one found in Psalm 27:8: “My heart has heard You say, ‘Come and talk with Me.’ And my heart responds, ‘Lord, I am coming.’”
