Jesus said, “For unto every one that hath shall be given, and he shall have abundance: but from him that hath not shall be taken away even that which he hath.” (Matthew 25:29).
Why does Jesus give more spiritual riches to the person who already has riches in Christ? Well, let’s build an analogy from the material world.
Suppose you were a businessman and you had two businesses in which you invested $50,000 each. One business immediately began to lose money and was mismanaged; the other business immediately began to grow and made money. What would you do? If you were the smart businessman, you would take the money from the failing business and invest it in the profitable one.
There’s a truth about Truth. And here’s the truth about Truth – if you don’t use it, you’ll lose it. When you start pouring forth spiritual riches which bless others and honor God, He will in turn pour forth blessings into your life. Luke 6:38 says, “Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again.”
I try to unplug each morning with Jesus with just my rocking chair, my Bible, and a pen.
Having a secret place is very important because I know that Jesus is always there waiting for me. I know where I can find Him! His presence is everywhere, but there are places where it is so thick you can cut it with a knife. You may not even have a front porch, but there is a secret place for you as well. God’s invitations are for anyone who will respond. There is no more important request than the one found in Psalm 27:8: “My heart has heard You say, ‘Come and talk with Me.’ And my heart responds, ‘Lord, I am coming.’”
