The Word...Settled In Heaven

"

Psalm 119:89 says, “For ever, O LORD, Thy word is settled in heaven.” Isn’t that a beautiful verse? That tells us that we can depend upon the Word of God. It is not up for vote. The Bible is not the book of the year; it is the book of the ages.

The Bible is the greatest book ever written, but it has its enemies. There is the liberal who tries to water down the Word of God. There is the atheist who denies the Word of God. There is the cultist who twists the Word of God.

But I believe that the greatest enemy of the Bible today is the Christian who does not love it, memorize it, practice it and obey it—because if we would do that, we would be witnessing and winning those who disbelieve.

Front Porch Moments by Gayle Foster

WITH KEY INSIGHTS FROM HER FATHER, ADRIAN ROGERS

I try to unplug each morning with Jesus with just my rocking chair, my Bible, and a pen.

Having a secret place is very important because I know that Jesus is always there waiting for me. I know where I can find Him! His presence is everywhere, but there are places where it is so thick you can cut it with a knife. You may not even have a front porch, but there is a secret place for you as well. God’s invitations are for anyone who will respond. There is no more important request than the one found in Psalm 27:8: “My heart has heard You say, ‘Come and talk with Me.’ And my heart responds, ‘Lord, I am coming.’”
