“He who would love life and see good days, let him refrain his tongue from evil, and his lips from speaking deceit.”

Homes are going to experience attacks. Ours has, and yours will. Some attacks come from without and some from within. Let’s think about three kinds of attacks that could come.
Earthquakes come. We’ve known some earthquakes. I mean some things that shook us to the very foundation.
Then there are woodpeckers always beating on your home. You know the woodpeckers. They just hammer away.
But it’s easier to deal with the earthquakes and woodpeckers than the termites. Termites get into the foundation and just silently eat away.
One of the greatest dangers to your home comes from within. It’s bitterness. Bitterness, like termites, eats away at your home’s foundation, destroying your marriage. Banish bitterness. Give your spouse the grace you yourself also need.
I try to unplug each morning with Jesus with just my rocking chair, my Bible, and a pen.
Having a secret place is very important because I know that Jesus is always there waiting for me. I know where I can find Him! His presence is everywhere, but there are places where it is so thick you can cut it with a knife. You may not even have a front porch, but there is a secret place for you as well. God’s invitations are for anyone who will respond. There is no more important request than the one found in Psalm 27:8: “My heart has heard You say, ‘Come and talk with Me.’ And my heart responds, ‘Lord, I am coming.’”
