I must work the works of Him that sent Me, while it is day: the night cometh, when no man can work. John 9:4
Robert Moffett, a great missionary statesman, said, “We will have all eternity in which to celebrate our victories, but only one short hour before the sun sets in which to win them.”
Life’s setting sun is sinking low. There are only a limited number of days in which to save souls. Are you going to spend your days investing in the things of this world, or depositing treasures in heaven?
When?
Are you going to plant happiness in this life alone?
Or are you going to start sowing seeds of salvation? If so, when?
Are you going to do something nice for your wife? When?
Are you going to write your father? When?
Make a promise to yourself right now that you will not put off until tomorrow what you can and should be doing today.
I try to unplug each morning with Jesus with just my rocking chair, my Bible, and a pen.
Having a secret place is very important because I know that Jesus is always there waiting for me. I know where I can find Him! His presence is everywhere, but there are places where it is so thick you can cut it with a knife. You may not even have a front porch, but there is a secret place for you as well. God’s invitations are for anyone who will respond. There is no more important request than the one found in Psalm 27:8: “My heart has heard You say, ‘Come and talk with Me.’ And my heart responds, ‘Lord, I am coming.’”
