“And whosoever lives and believes in Me will never die…”

I heard a story about a boy who was dying on a battlefield. The chaplain was there, cradling this boy's head tenderly in his hands. The boy looked up and said, “Chaplain, am I going to live?” The chaplain looked down at his grievous wound and saw his life’s blood ebbing out. He knew that in just a matter of minutes the boy would be dead. He said to him, “Son, are you a Christian?” The boy gave a weak smile and said, “Sir, the happiest day in my life was when I gave my heart to Jesus Christ. Yes, I'm a Christian.” The chaplain said, “Then, son, you'll live!” And indeed, he will!
“And this is life eternal, that they might know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom You have sent” (John 17:3). Life is short, death is sure, sin is the cause, and Christ is the cure. Do you know Jesus, whom God has sent? Believe in Him. Trust in Him for your salvation. Then you too will live!
I try to unplug each morning with Jesus with just my rocking chair, my Bible, and a pen.
Having a secret place is very important because I know that Jesus is always there waiting for me. I know where I can find Him! His presence is everywhere, but there are places where it is so thick you can cut it with a knife. You may not even have a front porch, but there is a secret place for you as well. God’s invitations are for anyone who will respond. There is no more important request than the one found in Psalm 27:8: “My heart has heard You say, ‘Come and talk with Me.’ And my heart responds, ‘Lord, I am coming.’”
