If you are godly, you are wealthy. Your personal value is revealed not by money but by godliness.
So many times we look at a man's stocks, bonds, real estate, and possessions, and we say, "He is worth this or that." You cannot measure worth by money. Godliness is worth more than a bank account.
Do you know how to find out what an item is worth? Find out what somebody will pay for it. I don’t care how much you think something is worth. Try to sell it—then you’ll know what it’s worth.
First Peter 1:18-19 says, "Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold, from your vain conversation received by tradition from your fathers; But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot."
Jesus died for you. You are valuable. Jesus poured out His rich, red, royal blood for you. Don’t ever measure your worth by your bank account.
Where is contentment found? Look in the Word of God: “But godliness with contentment is great gain” (1 Timothy 6:6).
I try to unplug each morning with Jesus with just my rocking chair, my Bible, and a pen.
Having a secret place is very important because I know that Jesus is always there waiting for me. I know where I can find Him! His presence is everywhere, but there are places where it is so thick you can cut it with a knife. You may not even have a front porch, but there is a secret place for you as well. God’s invitations are for anyone who will respond. There is no more important request than the one found in Psalm 27:8: “My heart has heard You say, ‘Come and talk with Me.’ And my heart responds, ‘Lord, I am coming.’”
