But what exactly is faith? It’s not blind superstition or closing one’s eyes to reality. It’s not believing something just because we know we should. It’s not a leap in the dark.
Adrian Rogers says that biblical faith is “the heart’s response to the character of God.” It’s knowing He is always faithful…even when we are not.
If faith is an internal response to God, what does faith look like externally? What does it mean to “live by faith”? The author of Hebrews 11 compiled a list of biblical heroes who exemplified lives of faith. In this study, we will look closely at seven of them: Abel, Noah, Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, Moses, and Rahab.
As you look at their lives, you will see the kind of faith that pleased God and learn how to live by faith. Your faith will grow because your heart will respond to God’s character as you read His Word and study His action in the lives of these biblical champions of faith!
