What is God’s Intention for the Church?

There is one body and one Spirit, just as you were called in one hope of your calling; one Lord, one faith, one baptism; one God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all.

Ephesians 4:4-6

God Has a Plan for the Church

Many people look for a church that suits their needs. If it meets on their schedule, plays worship music they enjoy, has the right programming for their children, and has a preacher who keeps them awake, it’s a fit!

But God has so much more in store for us than comfort and convenience. He wants us to be the Christians the Church needs. As the bride of Christ, we are to be radiant, pure, and faithful to Jesus, the living Word of God.

The Bride of Christ

Featured Bible Study

In 2005, before Pastor Adrian Rogers retired, he preached a series of messages to prepare his congregation for the future. The biblically sound teaching he gave his church applies to all believers—those who by faith alone, through grace alone, have placed their hope in Christ alone. Covering topics such as unity among believers, standing strong in opposition to the enemy (Satan), the power of the Holy Spirit, steadfastness in prayer, and true worship, this eight-week study will help you become better prepared, as the bride of Christ, to be radiant, pure, and faithful to Jesus, the living Word of God.

“The Mission of the Church: make them, mark them, and mature them.”
