Insecurity is tied very closely to your self-image. When you have an unbiblical, low, unhealthy self-image, you’ll constantly experience insecurity. You’ll wonder whether anyone loves you. You’ll be tempted to compare yourself to others to see how you measure up. You may even question whether God loves you.
God has given you many powerful Bible verses for insecurity. These Bible verses about insecurity provide you with an accurate self-image, and when you embrace that self-image you’re set free from insecurity.
Use these verses to encourage you and strengthen you.

He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before Him in love, having predestined us to adoption as sons by Jesus Christ to Himself, according to the good pleasure of His will, to the praise of the glory of His grace, by which He made us accepted in the Beloved.
(Ephesians 1:4-6).
These verses say some absolutely incredible things!
Before the foundation of the world. God looked upon you and said, “I want them for my own.”
Why did God adopt you? Because He loves you with a deep, overwhelming love.
You don’t have to do anything to earn God’s acceptance. He welcomes you, embraces you, and delights in you.
These three realities destroy insecurity. You are chosen, adopted, and accepted by God Himself. He wanted you to be part of His family and went to great lengths to make that happen. You are so valuable in God’s eyes that He did all these things for you.
If God is for us, who can be against us? He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how shall He not with Him also freely give us all things? (Romans 8:31-32)
God is 100% for you. Not kind of for you. Not mostly for you. He is absolutely, completely, and totally on your side. The God who created the universe and keeps it running has your back.
Because God is for you, there is nothing in all of the universe that can stand against you. Even if others oppose you, you can be assured that God is standing with you, approving of you and loving you.
And what’s more, you can be sure that God will give you everything you need. If he gave up Jesus for you, is there anything He’ll hold back?
Behold what manner of love the Father has bestowed on us, that we should be called children of God! (1 John 3:1)
You are a child of God, beloved, accepted, and welcomed. Why would God make you His child? Because He looks upon you with deep, unshakeable love.
You are completely secure in your position as a child of God. Your good works don’t make you more a child of God and your sins don’t make you less a child of God. Every minute of every day, God loves you not as a servant, but as His child. You have God as your father.
The God who commands the angels and makes the mountains quake is your Father. You can bring all your fears and worries and insecurities to Him and lay them at His feet.
There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear, because fear involves torment. But he who fears has not been made perfect in love (1 John 4:18).
God loves you with a perfect love. He sees all your weaknesses, flaws, and struggles and still loves completely. You can’t earn this love. God gives it to you freely, holding nothing back.
Because God loves you with such immense love, you can draw near to Him without fear and without hesitation. Pastor Adrian Rogers said:
"...you have no need to fear Someone who loves you perfectly. God’s perfect love can eliminate all dread. It’s not our love for Him, but His perfect love for us that will cast out our fears. Are you gripped with fear about something? Do not give in to despair. There is hope."
Let God’s perfect love cause all your insecurities to dissolve. Let your fears and worries melt away in the face of God’s unstoppable, unbreakable love.
Simply put, we live in a world with a lot of emotional pressures. God understands the challenges and difficulties we face and He provides us with solid help in His word. In this post, we’re going to look at what God has to say about our negative emotions and feelings.
But you were washed, but you were sanctified, but you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus and by the Spirit of our God
(1 Corinthians 6:11).
Your past sins do not define you. They are not your identity. God has dealt with your sins in three very specific, very powerful ways.
By the blood of Jesus, God has cleansed you from all your sins. You are clean in God’s sight, washed white as snow.
To be sanctified means to be set apart. God set you apart for Himself, calling you for His purposes.
This means that God has declared you not guilty and forgiven in His sight. Even though you still sin and fall short, God has said that you are completely forgiven.
Insecurity cannot stand in the face of these things. You are washed, sanctified, and justified and nothing can change these realities.
Are not two sparrows sold for a copper coin? And not one of them falls to the ground apart from your Father’s will. But the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Do not fear therefore; you are of more value than many sparrows (Matthew 10:29-31).
God highly values His creation and lovingly cares for it. Not even a tiny sparrow dies apart from Him. He causes the flowers to bloom, giving them rain and sunshine. He numbers the grains of sand and calls the stars out by name. There is not a single square inch of creation that falls outside of His
Now, think about this. You are more valuable to God than the sparrows and the stars and the planets. God cares so deeply about you that He knows how many hairs are on your head. Every detail of your life - every struggle and victory - matter to God.
Do you believe that you are valuable to God? Did God send Jesus to die for creation? No, He didn’t. Did God send Jesus to die for the angels? No. He sent Jesus to die for you so that you could know Him. That’s how valuable you are to God.
For You formed my inward parts; you covered me in my mother’s womb. I will praise You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made; marvelous are Your works, and that my soul knows very well (Psalm 139:13-14).
God created you, lovingly forming you in your mother’s womb.
When God looks upon you, He sees His handiwork. You are fearfully and wonderfully made, crafted in the image of God Himself. Just like a master craftsman values the art he creates, so God highly values you.
God created you with a specific purpose in mind. He has good things in store for you and a plan for you. You are God’s workmanship, created to do good works that bring honor to God.
In his book Mastering Your Emotions, Pastor Adrian Rogers said:
In Christ, you are already accepted in the Beloved. Here is a remarkable fact—He loves you perfectly (1 John 4:18-19). This gives security. It is not our perfect love for Him but His perfect love for us that makes the difference. There is nothing you can do to make Him love you more. His perfect love casts out fear. There is also nothing that will cause Him to love you less.
Isn’t that good news? You are accepted and loved by God. This is the truth, and nothing can change it. Security comes from leaning into and fully believing this truth. By embracing what God says about you in these Bible verses for insecurity. By receiving the identity that God has given you.
If you try to overcome insecurity by doing things or impressing people, you’ll never get past it. You’ll never have a healthy, Biblical self-image. You’ll always feel inferior and unsure of yourself. But when you believe these powerful truths from God, insecurity melts away.
God wants you to find your security in Him and Him alone. Rest in the security He offers.
