Let's Talk: Christmas Traditions

A Change of Plans

After the Wise Men followed the Star and found Jesus to worship Him and give Him gifts, they were divinely warned in a dream not to “return to Herod” (see Matthew 2:12). Herod was searching for Jesus intending to kill him and tried to use the Wise Men to find his location. God was working His perfect plan and warned the Wise Men to preserve the life of His Son, Jesus.

God also warned Joseph in a dream to take Jesus and Mary and flee to Egypt and remain there until he received word to move.

When we are sensitive to the Holy Spirit’s leading, we, too, can know how to walk safely and securely through life. We aren’t promised a life free of problems, but we are promised the presence of God through every path we walk. As you celebrate Christmas and move into the New Year, you can trust the Lord your God to lead and guide you through every road you will travel in the days to come.

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths.” Proverbs 3:5-6
