Whether you have a long list of wishes, or barely have a list at all, you probably have something you are hoping to receive or experience this Christmas.
One survey from 2022 shared that 52% of American adults surveyed admit to getting at least one unwanted gift over the holidays, totaling roughly 138 million unwanted gifts.1
For most material gifts, the newness wears off or we outgrow the need for the gift with time. And though material gifts bring happiness and smiles on Christmas morning, no material gifts can fill our hearts with joy everlasting.
There is only one gift, the gift of salvation through Jesus Christ, that can fill our hearts with joy that will not fade away.
“Then the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid, for behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy which will be to all people. For there is born to you this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord” (Luke 2:10-11).
“For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord” (Romans 8:38-29).
