When Jesus was preparing His followers for His return to Heaven, He commanded His followers to make it their mission to reach others with His love and the message of salvation. One of the ways that mission has stayed strong through the ages is through local churches. However, the Church has had to endure numerous trials because we all have a common enemy, Satan, who wants to destroy the hope of the Church. The good news is Jesus did not leave the Earth without first giving us instructions and the incredible gift of Himself through the Holy Spirit.

A strong local church that is able to move into the future must learn how to love the Word of God just like Jesus did. It must be unified in the bond of peace. It must be steadfast when faced with trouble. It must be Spirit-filled to access power and direction. It must ask, seek, and knock through prayer. It must worship in spirit and truth. It must learn to conquer the enemy’s attacks. It must learn how to care for its neighbors.
