What is a soul? A soul is one of the three parts that make up who you are as a human created in God’s image. Those three parts are spirit, soul, and body. A soul is the mind, will, and emotions of a person. It is the seat of feelings, desires, and affections. It’s the character or substance of a person. In Hebrew (Old Testament language), the word used for soul is nepes and in the Greek (New Testament language), it’s psyche.
