What is a soul made up of? A soul is made up of the mind, will, and emotions of a person. The soul is the seat of feelings, desires, and affections. It’s the character or substance of a person. In Hebrew (Old Testament language), the word used for soul is nepes and in the Greek (New Testament language), it’s psyche.
“And the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground (body), and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life (spirit); and man became a living being (soul/mind)” (Genesis 2:7).
“Now may the God of peace Himself sanctify you completely; and may your whole spirit, soul, and body be preserved blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ” (1 Thessalonians 5:23).
