The objective of preaching should be that people become more like Christ. The Apostle Paul wrote, "My little children, of whom I travail in birth again until Christ be formed in you" (Galatians 4:19). The measure of my [Adrian Rogers] ministry is not the size of our budget, the beauty of our buildings, nor the number of our attendees. The measure of my ministry is, Are my people becoming more like Jesus Christ?
Although I am opposed to liquor, racism, and abortion, I would not make these issues the focus of my ministry. It is easy for a preacher to become sidetracked by issues, but I determine to preach Christ and Him crucified.
