Search All ArticlesMany couples today do not have a magnificent marriage. Many do not even have a mediocre marriage. In fact, many have a miserable marriage. And the devil knows that if he can hurt us at home, he can hurt us everywhere — in the church, in the school, in society, and in the nation. So Satan levels his biggest artillery at our homes.
But in Ephesians five, God has given the husband and wife some roles in order to have healthy, Christ-honoring marriages.

READ MOREOne of the greatest invitations to prayer ever given to anyone was spoken to Jeremiah when he was in prison for preaching the truth. God said:
“Call unto Me, and I will answer thee, and show thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest not.” (Jeremiah 33:3)
God mercifully spoke to him in his distress with both a command and an invitation.
READ MOREIt’s the question of the day. Can we stay God’s hand of certain judgment? Several years ago, Adrian Rogers found the answer to these compelling questions in Psalm 80, and his message is as timely as ever.
Give ear, O Shepherd of Israel, Thou that leadest Joseph like a flock; Thou that dwellest between the cherubim, shine forth. Stir up Thy strength, and come and save us. Turn us again, O God, and cause Thy face to shine; and we shall be saved.
Israel was praying for national revival. A nation with a glorious heritage, delivered from the gnawing chains of Egyptian bondage, led through the Red Sea and Sinai Desert, Israel came into the Promised Land. Never has there been a nation quite like them. Because God was their King, He blessed them to such a degree that when the Queen of Sheba came, she said, “The half has never yet been told.”

A Plea for Revival
In Psalm 85 we read the prayer of a true patriot. He’s watched his nation go from disobedience to degradation to dissolution. And because he loves his land, he’s praying for revival.

Call unto Me, and I will answer thee, and show thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest not. (Jeremiah 33:3)
What a predicament! The people of Judah faced an enemy alliance marching to destroy them. We looked last time at this dramatic event—God’s people caught in an impossible situation.
We saw that the people set their faces first of all to seek the Lord in earnest prayer and fasting.
READ MORESomeone once observed that as Christians we’re either in the midst of a battle, just emerging from a battle, or headed into one. Rarely do we bask in flowery meadows of peace! Perhaps in heaven we’ll enjoy that, but on this earth we’ll have trouble. Everyone reading this is in one of these three places or you know someone who’s there.
Some people think that if revival were to break out, it would be the end of our troubles. It will be, but it’ll be the front end! It’s a fact of earthly life that when God opens the windows of heaven to bless us, the devil opens the doors of hell to blast us. When God begins moving, the devil fires up all his artillery. Should we then fold up and go away? No! We’re to stand up and pray. God did not call us to fail but to be victorious. The death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ established our victory. We will have victory when we learn how to face our battles.
READ MOREWe all experience pain, and even suffering at some time in our lives. While our natural reaction to pain is to avoid it, get rid of it, or numb it; we need to realize that God allows pain. In fact, our suffering is a sign of God’s love. Let me explain.
After Adam and Eve sinned, after the infection and sickness of sin came into this world, God said to them, “Cursed is the ground for thy sake…” (Genesis 3:17). He didn’t say “for your punishment” but “for your sake, for your welfare.” The worst thing that could have happened would have been for them to have lived in paradise with a sinful nature and be immune to pain, because pain is the signal that something is wrong and needs to be fixed.
Do you ever worry? We all do, but we ought not. Worry is not just a weakness; it’s a wickedness.
