Would you discuss the preparation and presentation of an effective invitation?

I [Adrian Rogers] do not prepare my invitations like the rest of the sermon. I have three or four varieties of invitations that I use and feel natural in giving without much preparation. I depend upon the inspiration of the moment rather than upon preparation for the delivery of the invitation.

Will Jesus forgive me with all I've done?

Throughout history, many people have wondered whether God could forgive all their sins, even the really bad ones. If you find yourself in that place, there's good news. The Bible is full of examples of God forgiving all of someone's sins, even their worst ones.

Why was Jesus Crucified?

The question of why Jesus was crucified can be viewed from various angles: the cultural angle, the religious angle, the political angle, and the prophetic angle. Yet, in the end, it must be viewed from the ultimate angle, the sin angle. Let’s take a moment and look at each one.

Why was Jesus a friend to sinners?

If Jesus weren’t a friend to sinners, He wouldn’t have had any friends on Earth. We’re all sinners and we all need Jesus to be our friend and to be our Savior. That’s why He came—to save us and make us able, once again, to be friends with God. Let’s look at what Scripture says about this.

Why should the Word of God be the preacher's primary source?

There is but one book that can speak and give us wisdom, give us knowledge, give us understanding, and give us direction. The Word of God is not a possible source of reference material for preaching, but, rather, the primary source for preaching the Gospel.

Why should I trust God?

These and so many more traits found in God’s Word tell us, clearly, that we can trust our great God.

Why should I tell others about Jesus?

Apart from Jesus, there is no salvation, no forgiveness of sins, no relationship with God, and no Heaven. Without Jesus, a person will suffer the punishment for sin in Hell. We have more opportunities, more ability to communicate, more tools than any generation ever had. Don't let this opportunity pass by. Share the good news of Jesus Christ with those around you.

Why should I fear God?

Whether we admit it or not, we are born with a knowledge and fear of God. The difference is Jesus. If you choose to follow Jesus, your fear of God is liberating, otherwise it is debilitating.

Why must there be a mediator between Man and God?

God is holy, righteous, and just. Man is sinful, unrighteous, and unjust. Light has no fellowship with darkness. Light and dark cannot occupy the same space at the same time. Therefore, something had to be done about sin; someone had to mediate between God and Man. So, Jesus stepped in.

Why is your soul important?

God created you in His image and values you enough to redeem you, renew you and return for you.

Why is the world so broken?

God created the Universe to be good, but sin brought its consequences.

Why is the Church called the Body of Christ?

A human body has many members with different functions, but only one head. Metaphorically speaking, the Church and Christ work together in a similar fashion. In the same way that the head directs the rest of the body in how to move, Christ also instructs His body, the Church. Ephesians 5:23 says, “For the husband is head of the wife, as also Christ is head of the church; and He is the Savior of the body.”

Why is Palm Sunday important to Christianity?

Palm Sunday is important to Christianity for several reasons, one of which is that it fulfills prophecy. In Zechariah 9:9, we are given a description of what occurs in the gospels as we see Christ enter Jerusalem at the beginning of Passover week. This would also mark the last week of Jesus’ ministry before His crucifixion. Much about His entrance into...

Why is Jesus important?

Jesus is important for so many reasons. First and foremost, Jesus is important because He has made it possible for us to be made right in our relationship with God. The Bible also says that Jesus is the King of Kings and has been exalted to the highest, most important place in the universe.

Why is Jesus called a lamb?

As early as the accounts of Genesis, we see reference to a lamb for sacrifice. This is a clear picture that points to the substitutionary sacrifice for sin that Jesus would become.

Why is homosexuality a sin if being gay is just who I am?

Being gay is not your identity. God created you in His image and you are so much more than your desires or attractions.

Why does it matter how the world started?

If the universe, the Earth, and humans were all created by accident, then nothing really matters, does it? If there's no Creator, there's nothing particularly special or valuable about humans or any other life on Earth.

Why did Judas betray Jesus?

To answer this question, we need to look at three things: the prophecy, the philosophy, and the hypocrisy. What was said prior to the events happening, what the teachers of that day wrongly taught about the Messiah, and what Judas chose on his own to do. So, grab a Bible, and let’s begin.

Why did Jesus die?

Jesus died so that we who would believe in Him might live. His death paid the penalty for sin that we could not pay, making it possible to be reunited in relationship and fellowship with God the Father. Only a perfect sacrifice could have been sufficient for the sin debt we owed to the Father. Jesus was that perfect sacrifice, and His resurrection made eternal life possible for each of us.

Why did Jesus decide to die for mankind?

When you think of why Jesus died for mankind, you cannot help but realize He died for you. God loves you, and sacrificed His son, Jesus, in order to offer you the gift of salvation.
