Real Love Begins at Calvary
This month Love Worth Finding is concentrating on true love as it applies to marriage—a relationship designed by God to be shared between one man and one woman for as long as both are living on this Earth. In the sermons broadcasted on television, on radio, and available digitally, Pastor Adrian Rogers addresses the biblical foundation for marriage and for real love in the home. This article explores some of that content. If you’re not married, please don’t click away; there’s plenty of sound biblical advice that applies to your life, whatever it looks like.

Raising Young Champions
“Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.” (Proverbs 22:6) If you are a parent, this Scripture is issuing you a challenge. Mom and Dad, which of these do you want in your home─champions or prodigals? If you want champions, let’s take a closer look at Proverbs 22:6.

Preparing For Persecution - Part 2
In Part One of this article, we looked at the situation for the true Christian living in a culture where the prevalent worldview mocks and ridicules the God of the Bible and His precepts for living. And those who stand with Jesus Christ, bravely upholding His precepts against a turning tide, become targets for persecution. We looked at the reasons why believers are persecuted. We also reviewed the results of this persecution. In many nations worldwide, the cost of discipleship is death. In nations like Nigeria and Egypt, Christians are actively being martyred today.

Preparing For Persecution - Part 1
I believe we are living in the lengthening shadows of the last day. I believe Jesus Christ is coming soon, and one of the earmarks is persecution of the saints. We see it on TV, newscasts, and editorial pages. Ridicule any other group and you’ll be in trouble, but the wrath of our culture is reserved for the Christian. The Bible-believing Christian is the whipping boy. But there is no way to be a genuine Christian and escape persecution. Our Lord said as much in Matthew 5. And through the apostle Paul He said, “Yes, and all who desire to live godly in Christ Jesus will suffer persecution...” (2 Timothy 3:12).

Predestined for Hell? Absolutely Not!

Practicing His Presence in 2012
As 2012 begins, each of us wants to be encouraged and inspired in our daily walk with God, and a wonderful way to do that is with Dr. Rogers’ devotional journal Daybreak: Practicing the Presence of God. We wanted to share a couple of examples of the insights you will find in this book. In fact, the arrangement of these practical daily applications was suggested by Dr. Rogers many years ago in a discussion as to what he would consider a valuable daily devotional. “Henceforth I call you not servants; for the servant knoweth not what his lord doeth: but I have called you friends; for all things that I have heard of My Father I have made known unto you.” John 15:15

Pesky Problems with Prayer
Can I get God to change His mind about something?

Our Greatest Prayer Partner
Romans 8:26"Likewise the Spirit also helps in our weaknesses. For we do not know what we should pray for as we ought, but the Spirit Himself makes intercession for us..." (Romans 8:26). Are you satisfied with your prayer life? Most of us would answer no. Prayer is our greatest Christian privilege but, sadly, our greatest failure. We fail more in our prayer life than in any other place.

Our Great Savior
“The queen of the south shall rise up in the judgment with this generation, and shall condemn it: for she came from the uttermost parts of the earth to hear the wisdom of Solomon; and, behold, a greater than Solomon is here.” (Matthew 12:42) The Pharisees were criticizing, castigating, and judging Jesus. And Jesus responded by saying, “Look, a greater than Solomon is here.” Now, what caused Jesus to say that?

Others
There is a story that is told of Salvation Army founder William Booth. In his later years and in frail health, he was invited to say a word of encouragement to a convocation. Unable to attend, he sent a telegram with a simple yet powerful message. It had one word on it: “Others.”

Obstacles That Hinder Fellowship with Jesus
1 John 1:5 - 2:6Uncover the obstacles that come between you and meaningful fellowship with Jesus and find practical solutions to overcome them.

O Come Let Us Adore Him, the Son of God
From the lowly manger to His position of eternal majesty, Jesus is worthy of our praise and adoration. O come let us adore Him; the Son of God is God the Son.

National Repentance
Often I wonder, will oceans of tears and rivers of blood be the price this nation pays for flaunting its rebellion in the eyes of a righteous, holy God?Our only hope is in repentance. “If My people, which are called by My name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land” (2 Chronicles 7:14).

Mustard Seeds And Mountains: Learning To Think Small
A mustard seed is very small, about like a fleck of ground pepper. A mountain, of course, is huge. What is Jesus saying here? That the least amount of faith is greater than greatest amount of difficulty. Perhaps what we ought to do is “think small.” A grain of mustard seed faith can move mountains. The Bible puts a big emphasis on small things. Many small things have big consequences. When an atom is split, you have nuclear fission; the smallest of entities can cause the biggest of explosions. Small things have great import. If you want to be fruitful, be faithful in small things.

Monday Morning Religion
Somebody said, “They’re praising God on Sunday, but they’ll be all right on Monday. It’s just a little habit they’ve acquired.” That’s what the world says when they watch us on Monday. Wouldn’t it be great if we could prove them wrong and make Monday just as holy as Sunday? How do we do that? Well, let’s start by looking at what God’s Word about the dominion, drudgery, dignity and duty of work.

Mighty Prayer
One of the greatest invitations to prayer ever given to anyone was when Jeremiah was in prison for preaching the truth. God reached into his prison cell with both a command and an invitation. Call unto Me, and I will answer thee, and show thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest not. (Jeremiah 33:3)
